Jami Gigac ~ Licensed Massage Therapist

Practice Philosophy : Compassion, Kindness, Faith, Skill. Gentle, yet effective approach to bodywork.
Helping others has always been a calling on my life. I genuinely love effecting a positive change for people. Massage therapy offers the perfect way for me to combine my gifts and talents of compassion, knowledge, skill, and experience to be of service to others.
I am happily back in business after a four year hiatus. This is the story behind my time away and the shift to focusing more on peaceful, relaxation style massage in my practice.
My mission has always been to provide a calm, nuturing, healing atmosphere for my clients. To ensure this atmosphere, I must be my best self; whole in mind, body and spirit. I can only attribute it to divine timing and intervention that I was led to close my practice four years ago due to numbness in my hands, a somatic symptom manifesting from increasing tension and disregulation in other areas of my life. I felt it was for the best to not carry on practicing at the time. I had entered into a season where I went through some of life's more unpleasant aspects of abuse, trauma, loss and grief. By the grace of God, He rescued me, redeemed me, has restored me and has led me back into my vocation of helping others; especially those whom have gone through similar experiences.
The mind and body can hold onto our experiences, our emotions and traumas far after the event has passed. This can cause one to continue to feel uneasy, on-edge, unsettled, stuck in fight/ flight or in a loop. Others may feel exhausted, depleted, unmotivated, unable to focus, seemingly unable to move forward in life, it is also possible to experience both. Mental health professionals call this PTSD or CPTSD. If this sounds familiar, please seek the help of a licensed counselor or therapist, either locally or there is help readily available online or through apps like BetterHelp. I sought guidence and help through a Christian counselor online, and it really made a difference. Having someone to confide in, to explain my experience to and have them offer thier expert perspective gave me a solid place to stand when circumstances around me were continually shifting. My faith combined with a good counselor lifted my state of being enough for me to return to nuturing my physical self through massage. Massage and massage school had been key to my healing years ago, but I had stopped receiving massages for various reasons following 2020. Allowing myself to be cared for, to feel safe and finally relax was the missing piece to begin feeling at peace within my body again.
Nuturing, comforting touch and being in a state of relaxation is vital to healing and cultivation of wellbeing as humans. The body only heals when in a state of relaxation, when all sensory input tells you that you are safe, that you are cared for and that you can rest. This is my area of focus, relaxation, rest, safety and support for healing through the lens of compassion.
